This thread tackles how is your android based cellphones run your games smoothly otherwise knowing that the best time to get a new phone
Based processor brand will be Qualcomm's Snapdragon series however I'm currently using 801 quad-core and 810 octa-core
However if you aren't that sure of your phone specs especially local rebranded phones sourced from china you should do a google search for the source name and specs
Otherwise if internationally known in some territories GSMArena and other related sites which might give you the idea of the specs
Lastly the base specs will be basing 3 parts which Processor/SoC,RAM and Graphic processor
LEGEND: Green = Playable, Yellow = Playable with minor problems, Orange = Playable with major problems, Red = Unplayable
Current DRSP Ver. 2.1.2
Current DRSP JPN Ver. 2.5.1
Single core phones: Unplayable and will experience frequent stutters/lag with possible game shutdowns
Dual Core phones with 1GB RAM: Game stutters/lag at certain points on drift points to near unplayable (tested with SGH-i717 AT&T Note1)
Dual Core phones with 2GB RAM: untested
Quad Core phones with 1GB RAM: untested
Quad Core phones with 2GB RAM: playable and it depends the generation of quadcore phones like on Snapdragon 200, 410/412, 600 series, 800 series
Quadcore phones with 3GB RAM: playable but bit faster on game loading qualcomm ones should pass better with other brands
Hexacore phones: playable but need further data and feedbacks from other brand like Mediatek
Octacore phones: literally overkill either 3 to 4gb RAM variants of phones of any brands especially snapdragon 615 to 810/815
Intel series processor phones: Untested and yet to be seen or feedbacked from other users there since this should be better than Qualcomm's but probably lesser support

It runs really smooth no hiccups at all. Edit: It is using a Qualcomm MSM8974AC Snapdragon 801 chipset.

What is the requirement if I want to know my spec? Sorry for off topic -Google for the exact name and model of phone -if internationally known you can google "XXXX GSMarena" -check the 3 key specs which DRSP should work on your phones is Processor, RAM, and Graphics Processor... however the the first two is really important For example: Google "Pantech Sky Vega Iron 2" some sites like GSMArena or PDAdb will be shown in google results Check the specs... Iron 2 uses Snapdragon 801 2.3ghz, 3gb RAM and Adreno 330 It lands on Quad core with 3gb RAM class and it should run very smoothly

We could start a spread sheet where people put in there phones and we get the info and determine if it is playable or not.

Result should come at midnight (close on level up to 138). Sadly no longer produced ,but well here's the spec of my Xperia Z2 (taken from GSMarena) Chipset : Qualcomm MSM8974AB Snapdragon 801 CPU : Quad-core 2.3 GHz Krait 400 RAM : 3GB Runs perfectly fine for me. Check me if something's missed

Basically 2013 era Quad core phones from Qualcomm should work flawlessly as long it is 2gb RAM
Until I get Xiaomi Redmi 1s from my parents just to test a game to see if my theory of using RAM is most important than processor

Somehow Android's RAM management quite memory hungry at times so the threshold will be at 2gb minimmum for smooth gaming? Didn't even bothered 512mb RAM ones because current version of DRSP makes it really unplayable 1gb ones suffers nastily Somehow needing feedbacks to ASUS Zenfone 5, Zenfone 2 or rather Intel's Atom processors that ASUS Zenfone or Zenpad used in their lineup, since very different architecture from Qualcomm's processor

It also would depends on how big the screen is on the phone and the resolution of which the phone plays the game on because bigger screen requires more memory to run.

I believe that this list should be converted into a Table
List the brand, model, chipset, CPU, RAM and status. I'll let you convert it vash unless you want me to do it

I believe that this list should be converted into a Table List the brand, model, chipset, CPU, RAM and status. I'll let you convert it vash unless you want me to do it The reason why I don't bother much doing the list since android phones are way too many let alone newer brands coming out every few months In this thread made it bit simplified to where your phone lands to if their phone can play or not
