Hi Chaps. Has anyone got any hands on experience with Assetto Corsa? Just picked up an Xbox one with Forza 6. Looking at pre-ordering a copy of Assetto Corsa. Have tried Forza 6 and looks nice-ish but feels pretty dire handling wise. Is even more apparent when you try to drive/race cars that you own/owned on tracks youve raced on in real life. So have heard/read good things about Assetto Corsa, reviews and forums wise and though would mildly grill anyone here who has played on PC or via steam. Cheers loads, Oni

Yep. From what I have seen and heard that's the case. It's touted as being as close to the real thing in regards to handling etc as you can get. That's why I'm interested 😁. Have played so many racing/driving/Sims over the years and constantly been disappointed by them. That and I've had so many old cars in real life that would be nice to drive/race again and feel like it's racing without the worry of impending death when you get it wrong or thousands of pounds for repairs.
What I would like would a combo or real world feel like Assetto mixed open world aspect of horizon mixed with a random game I had on a phone years ago. It used GPS to map the roads in the area you where in at time and then created a real world race track using those roads you had picked and then invited friends to come race on it. A modern version of that would be ace using Google Street view with say cars you could download and then set your own challenges with handicaps for the person that lived in that area for example. Sorry, my brain has set imagination and waffle mode 😲

Slight off topic, but as response to your comment about that racing game. A game using Google Street View as a map? Hmmm...I think I've heard that kind of game, will check later.

Aaaah! Now Racedriver and Racedriver Grid are one of the very few games I really liked/enjoyed. Those and the old Toca series on ps1 and ps2. Oh, and Le Man's 24hr was another, actually sitting there with an old mate of mine and completing the actual full 24hr race in real time haha. Hardcore 😁

Hardcore 😁 The game that ran via GPS was many years ago, if my memory serves I had it on a Nokia N97 and I think it was a chap from Norway who made it.
