At least the HS JZA70 Drift Survival Event has now been concluded, and congrats to anyone who managed to nab any HS JZA70, M3 E46 and the Corolla NZE121. In the end I managed to secure my position for the M3 E46 after clocking in at 2 million points. All of this took a couple of gas tanks (1 S and 1 L) and approximately 150 nos tanks with the help of a spare XD EVO V I just welcomed alongside a Virginia Wolf companion.
It's finally happening. The much anticipated Wangan Midnight Collaboration of 2023 will be around the corner starting February, with the Kitami-Tuned Kai Original Touch Devil Z being the highlight of this collab in its 8-star form, making it the first 8-star collaboration car to appear in the entire game! With the Boss Battle Event being our first stop, we're featuring the Original Touch Devil Z, Hiramoto's R32 and the Harada Z31.
UPDATED 2/2/2023: The BIG Wangan Midnight Collab of 2023 has now been released. The Original Touch Devil Z is for those that reached Top 3000. Hiramoto's R32 is for Top 5000 in its 6-star base, and Harada's Z31 is for Top 10,000 in its 5-star base.
In this first part of the collab, the Kitami-Tuned Devil Z Kai is chance-ticket order exclusive, and that you must have 5 tickets to grab it in the spending shop. This likely means you must place in the Top 100 in either of the two events that it will be featured. If this wasn't bad enough, easier rankings like Top 3000, Top 5000 and Top 7500 offer you no tickets, thus leaving you no choice but to go for Top 1000.
The Nissan Sileighty is a point exchange car this month and you could also get it in the ticket order alongside the XD NCEC.
Now, BIG Bonuses will be awarded to those that used Hiramoto's R32 as well as Harada's Z31. As much as I want the Original Touch Devil Z, I'll likely settle for Harada's Z31 in this first round; I just wanted to save up for the Kitami-Tuned Devil Z's future appearance (Not the Kai version though). As much as I wanted to use the Sileighty, I'll use a spare Hajime companion I have in any car I was affinity-grinding.

So much for the first Wangan Midnight Boss Battle Event of 2023, and kudos to those that got the Original Touch Devil Z, Hiramoto's R32 and Harada's Z31. This event all-in-all costed me 57 gas tanks at least (31 L + 26 S) to clock me at 3 million points, which is quite enough to settle at Top 10,000 for Harada's Z31. I guess this is a wise choice since I need to use 3x as much gas tanks I've used if I actually want the Original Touch Devil Z.
Tomorrow night, the 3-car Battle event will commence, featuring the next three Wangan Midnight cars that appeared during the previous Boss Battle Event, like Reina's R32, Makoto's Z32 and the Garage Ace R34.
UPDATED 2/15/2023:
The 3-Car Battle Event began tonight, folks. As the formula goes from the previous Boss Battle Event, Reina's R32 is for Top 3000 in its 7-star base. Makoto's Z32 is for Top 5000 in its 6-star base, and Garage Ace R34 is for Top 10,000 in its 5-star base. Note that this event will be your last opportunity to fight for the Kitami-Tuned Kai Devil Z, as after that it will be replaced by the Kitami-Tuned Blackbird. So please, I wish you all the best for this last opportunity.
Just like the previous Boss Battle Event, the Sileighty will be retained as a point exchange car for at least the first half of the collab. Both Makoto's Z32 and the Garage Ace R34 do you big bonuses for those wondering.
I still want to prepare for the Kitami-Tuned Devil Z, so I may not push hard in this event let alone affinity-grinding, resource replenishing, and SPIRITS Tickets which I will still reach in this event.

Phew. So much for the tedious and effortsome 3-star battle event, and cheers to those that obtained Reina's R32, Makoto's Z32 and Garage Ace R34.
The next set of events will feature the Kitami-Tuned Blackbird as a chance ticket prize, and much like the Kitami-Tuned Kai Devil Z, it will be in its 8-star base.
The next event is a Battle Royale Event. I've had high hopes that the Kitami-Tuned Devil Z may appear in this event, but instead, we're featuring the C1 Runner Blackbird, Kimura-Tuned RX-7, and Eri's S2000.
Oh yeah, a 5-hour maintenance session will occur tonight, so please get all your rewards before that happens.

The Battle Royale Event has now begun, thus making it the first event to start the Blackbird Era of this Wangan Midnight Collab. Like the Kitami-Tuned Devil Z Kai, the Kitami-Tuned Blackbird is obtainable guaranteed at Top 100, which gives you 5 tickets needed to fetch it from the spending shop. Just like before, Top 1000 is your latest bet in terms of getting one ticket.
C1 Runner Blackbird is for Top 3000 in its 7-star base. Kimura-Tuned RX-7 is for Top 5000 in its 6-star base, and Eri's S2000 is for Top 10,000 in its 5-star base.
This is also the last event where you'll get the Sileighty as a point exchange car, and Eri's S2000 and Kimura-Tuned RX-7s give you Big bonus points.
As much as I wanted the C1 Runner cars especially the Blackbird, I still wanted to go after the Kitami-Tuned Devil Z. But if it doesn't appear within the next two events, I'll find an alternative target to go after. Probably just gonna get as many points to garner enough exchange goodies.

So much for the Battle Royale Event, and I hope y'all enjoy the whips you got including the C1 Runner Blackbird.
Starting March comes the Team Battle Royale Event, and the only featured car (at least for the top ranking) was the ARISE R35. The Mitsubishi Starion would also return this time as an exchange.
UPDATED 2/28/2023:
The event has now started, and thank goodness I dumped all of my CP in preparation for this. Anyhow, ARISE R35 is exclusive to any teams securing Top 1500. I would strongly recommend guys go that path if you don't want to spend GOLD on it. But if you do have lots of GOLD in your pocket, you can go ahead and nab it from the GOLD Order. That is if your team doesn't have good potential to reach Top 1500.

So much for the effortsome Team Battle Royale Event. Despite numerous setbacks we faced during the event including Bandai Namco's restriction on changing teams, we managed to come back clean on the very final round, which would hopefully land us the ARISE R35. All we have to do was hope and pray that it would arrive.
Now onto the final round of the Wangan Midnight Collab; the second Boss Battle featuring the Original Touch Blackbird, and two RX-7s; Ogishima's and Pink RGO.

Now, the final Wangan Midnight Event of 2023 has begun. Original Touch Blackbird is for Top 3000 in its 7-star base. Ogishima RX-7 is for Top 5000 in its 6-star base, and RGO RX-7 is for Top 10,000 in its 5-star base. The two RX-7s are available in the GOLD Order as well. This event marks your last opportunity to fight for the Kitami-Tuned Blackbird as well.
Once again, the Mitsubishi Starion is point exchange car, and those two RX-7s like Ogishima's and RGO do you so much big bonus points. Since there is no Kitami-Tuned Devil Z by far in this collab, I'll just opt for the Blackbird. I'd better expect to use the similar amount of resources which landed me Kawabata's GR86 last year.

The Midway Ranking just lifted this morning, and so best of luck to those fighting for the Blackbird whether its the original or Kitami-Tuned. I myself am still in a good position for the Blackbird after blasting each and every gas tank I have as well as reaching stopping points in every car I was affinity-grinding. Probably a good time to switch to the Starion now.
Also note that starting last weekend, Daylight Saving Time has began. All of you not only need to set your clocks one hour later, but also note all events in Drift Spirits start and end one hour later.
