upon the release of Drift Spirits ver. 5.0.0 few days ago I decided to make a thread about the recent version released by Namco Bandai Japan
now the bare minimum Android OS to play the current version as of this thread
Android 5.0.0 Lollipop series
Anything below Lollipop will not work even if you are able Download the APK from external sources.... above Android 5.0.0 will work regardless of higher Android version with some newer versions which has no support from the game
and now for the next part of this thread is your Android's Hardware... your Phone/Tablet spec needed to play
for DRSP 5.0.0 bare specification for the Game to Playable with User Interface slowdown
Quad Core series with 3GB RAM.... upon testing from Samsung Galaxy Note 4 AT&T (SM-N910A) which uses Qualcomm's Snapdragon 805 with 3GB RAM Octa Core series with 3GB RAM.... from Верный Валькирия's side also uses Qualcomm's Snapdragon 650 with 3GB RAM
Lastly another fair warning, my basis for phone specification I use is Qualcomm Snapdragon series and other known Processor such as Mediatek's Helio series, Samsung's Exynos, Huawei's Kirin and even Intel's Atom series for Android are to be collected hopefully from other users from the forum
upon testing to Octa Core with 4GB using 2015's OnePlus Two's Snapdragon 810, and the result was bit smoother UI experience but not as insanely smooth from older version of DRSP 4.4 series
I hope you guys serves this thread to see as an information to either you are to upgrade to a better phone/tablet to enjoy DRSP 5.0.0 on Android

Using Xiaomi Mi Max here. 3 GB RAM, Android 7.0, Octa-core, Snapdragon 650.
The menus are laggy af, same goes for the gachas. Scrolling feels so stiff. Despite all that though, there's been no effects in the races and my game's loading times still pretty much remain the same. UI definitely needs some bit of optimization for some mid range phones.
Definitely not in the mood to change phones now since it's only been 2 years that I had this phone.
Also seems to me this problem with the UI is only with Android devices, iOS seem to be fine.

I'm pretty sure they better optimize the UI touch and implementation speed... on 3GB phones are effing slow at worst 2 secs or more to load on a 4G data plan unlike the last version it takes a second or half when your Wi-Fi and 4G/5G are good.... on v5.0.0 it takes more longer to load to the next not in the mood to switch it to OnePlus Two until the event slows me insanely... 4GB ones are smoother on the scrolling in the UI part

I guess mine is the weakest because it was released from 2015 and used to be my mother's phone. Phone: Samsung Galaxy J7 (SM-J700F) Specs:1.5 GB RAM, Android 6.0.1 (Maxed out), Exynos 7580 Octa. Game play wise is smooth most of the time with less slow downs and lag but the new UI is slowing me down too hard to the point where the Gold order takes a minute or two. I never had this problem before ver. 5.0.0. It's been 2 years now since I used this phone. Might want to change it next year by using a used Samsung Galaxy A7 (A710F) from my relative or get a new phone because I never had a new phone in my life. I'm the only person in my family who only uses a Android, the rest are just IPhones from 6 to XS.

The official twitter page noticed the problem and said they'll work on it. When they'll apply the fix, I dunno.
But for now, I think I found a workaround for this problem. First you'll need to have "Developer options" enabled in your phone. Once you have that, enable "Force GPU rendering" in the options. The UI should be running smooth by then. Got this from someone in the fb group. But do note that this might not work for some devices, and GPU rendering might drain your battery a bit faster so make sure you disable it once you're done playing.

That Force GPU thing is a good workaround for now and a nice advice for now since muh Note 4 is my partner for DRSP and I also not in the mood to shop a new phone =P

Well, with the release of v5.0.1 today, it pretty much fixed the laggy menus. So I guess there's no need for that Force GPU rendering anymore. On another note, looks like they still missed the other issue where the avatars are displayed in low-resolution during races.
Welp, at least I don't have to worry about my battery draining a lot quicker everytime I start up the game anymore.
**Update is only available in QooApp atm btw. For android users**

I can't see my custom livery even after retrying it so many times. Only the premade livery (e.g stripes) works.

Tempted to upgrade to Snapdragon 845 or even 855+, been eyeing Oppo Reno Ace... pretty good enough for flagship buster for its specs
The base minimum spec tested now is OnePlus One's SD801 with 3gb... since it can play decently at the lowest setting

Currently upgraded my DRSP main account to Redmi K30 4G 8/128gb variant
As of 2020... probably the minimum base spec to work might be
3gb RAM based android phones, currently tested on One Plus One using Snapdragon 801 chipset seems playable
